The story

“Hello, my name is Greg Suignard, founder of Recursive Brain.  My Mom was diagnosed with vascular dementia in Dec 2022.  Dementia is a horrible condition.  My Mom’s brain is literally dying and it’s even visible on a CT scan.  As her dementia has progressed some expected situations have appeared including confusion, not being able to remember events and my mom struggling to come to terms with the condition and other suffering she experienced in her life.  Myself and my brothers and my sister began doing a lot of research on dementia including communication best practices.  There is a lot of great information out there of course.  I began to experiment with OpenAI and what it could do for dementia advice.  One thing that OpenAI could do that a static website could not was personalize the advice more specifically on my Mom.  It could also help me practice situations that might come up when communicating with my Mom and give me feedback based on known best practices on how to improve.  This experience is a result of that experimentation and hopefully will provide some guidance and help others as well.  Any feedback is appreciated and I hope others create and share experiences as well to help with this condition.”
